"She Said Yes To The Dress" and other totally cliche happenings...
Planning a wedding takes a lot of time, effort, and energy. The little details can consume an entire day or even an entire weekend. Luckily my Mom is very into planning and has been helpful along the way. She even helped me check one big thing off my list: finding my wedding dress!
Dress shopping was hard for me, because to be honest, I had never really thought about it before. Growing up I was much more into where Dave Matthews Band was touring next or following the Columbus Quest (a professional women's basketball league in Columbus from 1996-1998... R.I.P.). I never contemplated what a perfect wedding dress would entail.
Apparently, that's a fairly weird thing to say to a bridal consultant. I was told that I seem very "logical," "focused," and "busy," which I think were kind ways to express a slight bit of shock at my lack of knowledge about bridal gowns. I went in open minded and really let the consultants I worked with show me all the options. They were all extremely helpful and I was surprised that I liked so many. I couldn't decide, which I guess indicated that I hadn't found the "right one."
My Mom and I decided to try one last store before calling it quits and heading to Cincinnati. Spoiler alert: we didn't go to Cincinnati.
I'm still in search of a badass pantsuit for the rehearsal dinner, but I am happy to have checked this off my list.

I found my dress at Henri's Bridal near Polaris Parkway. As soon as I walked in, my Mom and I looked at the aisles of lace and bling, gravitating to the same dress. It was the first dress I tried on and I knew immediately that it was a slam dunk (see, I'm still a tomboy at heart).
Here we are with our lovely consultant, Kristen:
