Where in the world is... Chris and Sarah's wedding?

It's the weekend before Halloween, and Chris and I have definitely been in the spirit! On Friday night, Chris dressed as Waldo, from the Where's Waldo? books, and I dressed as Carmen San Diego, from the Where in the World is Carmen San Diego? books and tv show. Where were we found? At our friend Adria's house for a Halloween party filled with many of our favorite law school friends. Saturday, I dressed as a "Browns Perfect Season", complete with a Brown's jersey and unicorn horn, and Chris went as a face-painted dead man. We went to our friend Sabrina's house, complete with an amazing kid-led haunted house, and then headed over to RJ and Laura's house for some games!

While wedding planning has been "spooky," and feeling like venues were giving more "tricks" than "treats," it's not all scary. For one, we have finally settled on a date/time/reception place.

After more than twenty venue appointments and numerous other telephone conversations and emails with reception venues in the Columbus area--much thank to the hard work and coordination of my Mom--Chris and I have finally secured a reception venue. On August 3rd, 2019, Chris and I, along with our family and closest friends, will be eating a Berwick-catered taco dinner at St. Charles, Walter Commons.

Chris and I are pretty low-key when it comes to our "must-have's" at our wedding. Our priorities were: 1) Tacos; 2) Timing; 3) Location; 4) Size; 5) Affordability. We have a few food items we'd like to have if we could, and we like the idea of a place that is open a little later than 10pm (I mean, honestly, people are just getting going by that time). We'll have a lot of out-of-town guests coming in, so we'll need a place that is easily accessible to local hotels, or where we have a transportation option available for guests that need it. We also wanted a place that could easily seat 300 and would have space in case we needed to add new friends as we went along in our careers. Finally, we didn't want to kill our budget!

Let's just say, it was hard narrowing down the list. A lot of venues try to sell you a lot, and many surpassed our budget with the catering alone. But after comparing places, speaking to caterers, and being stubborn about the things that were important to us, we finally found the perfect venue. St. Charles has it all! We cannot wait to share the space with you.

We are still looking for a ceremony venue, and will likely be doing that for a few weeks. Until then, our family and close friends should pencil in August 3rd, 2019 for the biggest and best party of the year!
